Google Ads for Restaurants

A restaurant competes not only on its food but on whether guests find you when they're looking for a place for dinner, a date or a banquet. We build ads for each of these occasions and track real bookings.

The searches that will find you

We group searches by intent: high-intent queries go into separate campaigns with higher bids, informational ones become negative keywords or content.

Niche specifics

Why ads for Restaurants can’t follow a template

01

Different occasions, different searches

Dinner for two, a birthday, a corporate party and a business lunch are different people with different check sizes. One campaign for everything mixes them up and hides what actually makes the restaurant money.

02

Banquets take a long time to decide

A venue for a celebration or corporate event is chosen over weeks, comparing several places. Without remarketing and an easy inquiry form, guests get lost between their first site visit and the decision.

03

Bookings happen off the website

Tables are booked by phone, through reservation platforms, in messengers or on Instagram. If those channels aren't connected to Google Ads, the system optimizes blind.

04

Listicles steal attention

People searching “best restaurants in kyiv” want rankings and lists, not a specific venue. You need precise keywords by cuisine, neighborhood and occasion to pay for intent, not curiosity.

Sample ad

Here’s what your ad could look like

This is just one variation. In a responsive search ad, we write up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, and Google assembles the best combination for each search.

  • The search keyword appears in the first headline
  • A concrete benefit and offer instead of generic claims
  • A call to action that matches the goal: call, booking, directions
  • Sitelinks lead to relevant pages

Ad descriptions

Seasonal chef's menu, a summer terrace and a private room. Book a table on our website.

Birthdays and corporate parties: we'll tailor the menu to your budget and guest count.

Analytics

What we count as a result

Automated bid strategies learn from the data we feed them. That’s why we only count actions that lead to sales.

  • Online table booking
  • Banquet or corporate event inquiry
  • Call from an ad or the website
  • Directions in Google Maps
  • Message on Instagram or Telegram
  • Banquet menu download

Demand seasonality

Over the week, demand shifts toward Friday evenings and weekends, while business lunches carry the weekdays. Banquets and corporate parties peak in late November and December, with another peak in spring around graduations and wedding season; in summer, terraces take center stage.

Google Ads restrictions in this niche

Ukrainian law heavily restricts the advertising of alcoholic beverages, and Google also has separate policies for this category. That's why we don't build ads around wine, cocktails or the bar menu: the focus is on the food, the venue, the occasion and the service. We also review landing pages before launch.

Launch plan

The first 60 days, step by step

  1. 01

Week 1: audit and booking tracking

We review the website, booking platform and Google Business Profile. We set up conversions: bookings, banquet inquiries, calls, directions and messenger clicks.

  2. 02

    Week 2: launching by occasion

We launch Search separately for tables, banquets and corporate events, plus Maps ads and remarketing to visitors of your banquet pages.

  3. 03

    Weeks 3–6: cleanup and scheduling

We filter out searches about jobs, recipes and delivery (if you don't offer it), adjust the ad schedule for evenings and weekends, and test ads.

  4. 04

Weeks 7–8: preparing for the season

We add Demand Gen or Performance Max for the upcoming holiday season and shift budget to the campaigns with the best cost per banquet inquiry.

FAQ

Common questions about ads for Restaurants

Answers to the questions business owners ask most often before launch.

How do you track bookings made through a third-party platform?

Many booking platforms let you send events to Google Analytics 4 or install Google Tag Manager. If that's not possible, we track clicks on the booking button and calls as micro-conversions. Confirmed bookings from a form on your website can be sent back to Google Ads as offline conversions.

Should banquets be advertised separately from tables?

Yes, they're different jobs. A banquet has a longer decision cycle, more people involved in the choice and a different value for the restaurant. A separate campaign lets you give it its own goal and budget without mixing up the stats.

Can ads run only in the evening?

You can set an ad schedule and bid adjustments by hour and day of the week. But evening tables are often booked during the day, so we first look at when people actually search and book, and only then narrow the schedule.

Will ads help if the restaurant has few reviews?

Ads will bring people to your profile, but they decide based on your rating and reviews. That's why we recommend building a process for collecting guest reviews alongside the launch. We'll show you how to do it without violating Google's review policies.

Do we need a separate banquet page?

Ideally, yes. A page with venue photos, capacity, sample menus and a short inquiry form converts better than a generic homepage. If you don't have one, we can design and build it.
