Marketing Research

Marketing Research Before You Launch Ads

Before you spend a budget, we find out how many people search for your product, what competitors offer, who to sell to and with what offer, and how much you can pay for a customer.

Media plan and 3-month forecast: from ₴5,000

Google Trends: a researcher types “buy air conditioner” and sees demand rise every summer and drop in winter, which regions search the most and the related queries around it.

Google Ads Keyword Planner: a researcher types “dentist kyiv” and sees related keywords with average monthly searches, competition and the top-of-page bid range, then adds three keywords to the plan.

Google Ads Transparency Center: a researcher looks up a competitor, sees all of its current ads — text, image and video — and opens one to check its format and when it was last shown.

A unit-economics model in Google Sheets: from the average order value, margin and conversion rates the researcher works out profit per customer, the maximum affordable cost per lead and the break-even cost per click for ads.

Why it matters

Why research comes before launch

Advertising amplifies what's already there: it scales a strong offer and quickly, expensively exposes a weak one. The costliest mistakes happen before the first click: the wrong queries, the wrong audience, the wrong promise in the ad, a budget with no math behind it. Research replaces guesswork with facts, so you launch with a plan rather than an experiment paid for out of your own pocket.

01

Don't pay for the wrong searches

Some queries in your niche look relevant but bring in people looking for information, a job or a free solution. We sort queries by intent and build negative keyword lists before launch.

02

An offer that holds up to comparison

In search, your ad sits right next to your competitors' ads. We see what they promise and shape an offer that speaks to the real reasons people choose, not to generic phrases.

03

A budget backed by math

Target cost per lead and ROAS are calculated from your margin, average order value and lead-to-sale rate. That shows which advertising will pay off before you spend anything.

04

Channels in the right order

Not every business needs Performance Max or YouTube right away. We determine where to start, what to add later and how the channels will support each other.

Sound familiar?

You need this if…

  • I want to start advertising, but I don't know where to begin or how much to budget.

  • We tried ads before: the money was spent, but the customers never showed up.

  • I don't understand what sets us apart from competitors in the customer's eyes.

  • We're launching a new product or entering a new city and don't know if there's demand there.

  • I don't know how much I can pay per lead and still stay profitable.

  • The agency wants to launch right away, without any analysis.

Ask a question
Why do research if we could just launch ads and see what happens?

You can, but then you pay for the test yourself, and it often leads to the wrong conclusions: the campaign failed because of the wrong queries or a weak offer, yet the takeaway becomes that Google Ads doesn't work. Research removes the obvious mistakes before launch, so your first spend already works toward results rather than toward finding a direction.

How long does the research take?

Usually one and a half to three weeks, depending on the number of business lines and regions and on how quickly we get data from your side. We give you an exact timeline after the brief.

What do you need from us?

Answers to the brief, access to your existing analytics and ad accounts if you have them, and data on your economics: average order value, margin and the share of leads that become sales. A short conversation with someone who talks to customers every day helps a lot. All data stays confidential.

Where does the competitor data come from?

From public sources: the Google Ads Transparency Center, where advertisers' active ads are visible, as well as search results, websites, prices and reviews. We don't use gray-hat methods, and we don't claim to know competitors' exact budgets, because there's no honest way to get those numbers.

How is the target cost per lead calculated?

We take the average order value or customer lifetime revenue, your margin and the share of leads that turn into sales. That gives us the maximum cost per lead at which advertising doesn't lose money, and we set the target below it so you keep a profit. For e-commerce, we calculate the minimum ROAS the same way, accounting for different category margins.

Can I order the research without ongoing ad management?

Yes. You own all the materials and can use them with any team. If we also manage your ads, the research becomes the basis of the strategy and moves straight into campaign setup with no time lost.

How is this different from the extensive strategies consulting firms produce?

We do research with a specific goal: an effective ad launch. Every finding has a practical use: queries, negative keywords, the offer, the media plan, KPIs. No theoretical chapters that nobody revisits after the presentation.
